Activating and Deactivating Business Rule Sets

Rule sets have an active or inactive state. When a rule set is active, the application uses the rule set and all its related rules when processing invoices. When a rule set is inactive, the application ignores the rule set and all rules under the rule set completely. Consider the active/inactive setting like a turn on/turn off switch. Use this feature to either activate or deactivate a rule set within a rule type.

4792 Deactivating a rule set causes all rules under the rule set to become inactive.

  1. Navigate to the business rules engine you want to configure.
  2. Click the Business Rules tab.

    A list of rule types appears.

  3. For the rule type that needs a rule set activated or inactivated, click the corresponding Rule Type Name link.

    The Manage Rule Sets screen appears.

  4. Click the rule set name link.

    The Add/Edit Business Rule Set window appears.

  5. Do one of the following:
    • To activate the rule set, select the Active check box.
    • To inactivate the rule set, clear the Active check box.
  6. Click Save.

4786_note When managing the BRE, you can click the View History link to review all activities performed on the BRE item displayed.
