Investor Guidelines

The investor guidelines section is maintained by InvoicingSM personnel and is designed for configuring allowable guidelines published by government investors such as Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA/HUD, USDA and VA. Investor guidelines are configured by ICE administrators on a referral/order basis, invoice basis (Total Fees/Total Costs or Invoice Total), and/or a line item basis. Each guideline can cover such items as fees, costs, zip codes, state, department, judicial/non-judicial, and total amounts on both the individual line items per invoice and the invoice in total. Each guideline must contain an effective date and can also contain an expiration date. The line item guidelines allow for configuring the unit amount.

An important aspect is that within one guideline, many allowable settings can be configured. For example, one guideline can contain a history of allowable settings that have expired along with an allowable setting presently being used. That same guideline could also include allowable settings set up to take effect at a future date.

The Investor Guideline tabs are view-only. Although there is an Add button available under all Investor Guideline tabs, this button is only a shortcut to creating servicer guidelines of the same type. The reason for this design is to help facilitate the creation of servicer guidelines more quickly.

When situations occur in which your company's needs are not covered by an existing investor guideline or where no investor guideline exists at all, a servicer-specific guideline can be created. For more details on servicer-specific guidelines, see Servicer Guidelines.
